Music in Year 3
We had a really exciting morning learning how to drum to a rhythm. We worked on groups and used different percussion instruments to create some fabulous sounds.
Judo lessons in school
We were lucky enough to have a judo lesson in school. We loved learning the moves and practising on each other.
World Book Day 2017
Mrs Wilkes and Mrs Kidd loved getting dressed up for World Book Day. Can you guess who they came as? Year 3 had a great time on World Book Day. Everybody thought really hard about their costumes. Which characters do you see?
Harvest Play
Year 3 greatly enjoyed performing our play at our Harvest Celebration. It was all about a family of mice who lived in the church. We were all very nervous but excited. We hope it helped everyone understand the true meaning of Harvest….to share!
Our Science topic is rocks!
We have been looking at types of rock this term. We have carried out investigations to see how hard wearing some rocks are.
Measuring Shadows
In our light and shadow topic we went onto the playground to measure our shadows. They were huge. What part of the day was it?
3D Shapes
In maths we loved making our own 3-d shapes from nets.
Weighing & Measuring
In our maths we have been weighing and measuring. We estimated first (that was tricky) and then used scales to find the mass.
Dance
In PE we learned a dance – we linked it to our history work about Ancient Greece.
The History Lady
We were visited by the History Lady. She is amazing. She is from Ancient Greece and she told us all about her life in a small town outside of Athens. She showed us the armour and weapons that the Greek soldiers use in battle and she brought with her the loom she uses to create fabric for making clothes. We loved listening to her stories and we loved being able to try on the clothes she brought along.
