Sports and competitions.
School works extensively with the Durham Schools Partnership. Find out about events they offer and sport in the area at www.durhamcityssp.org.uk All of our children have competed in t least one event against other schools during the last year. They have experienced cycling, swimming, skipping, athletics, dance, cross country, athletics, rugby league and union, cricket, football, rowing, multi skills, golf, gymnastics and much more.
Congratulations to Chloe Trotter Y6 who will represent Durham City in the County Athletics Final. She will compete in the shot putt. Well done to the girls’ football squad who finished 4th in their league in their very first competitive season.

Sensible Shoes- can you make sure your child wears appropriate shoes for school. Remember they skip/play football etc at break times. As you will notice we also have a new climbing area at the bottom of the drive. This will be used at both break time and lunch time as well as during lessons.

Safe Cycling
It is great to see so many children cycling to school. However ensure that they are following safe routes and wearing helmets etc.

PE Kit
Please ensure your child should has a PE Kit should be in school at all times. Remember in hot weather send your child to school with a cap/hat water bottle and apply some long lasting sun screen.

Building Work Sure Start 5th July 2010
Work will start shortly on improvements to the Sure Start Centre. Please take extra care when using the drive/pedestrian gate. Please be advised that the main gate will be half closed when our children are using the new climbing area. This is to slow traffic for the safety of our children.

Sports Day
I am currently trying to find a venue and date for Sports Day. As you know our field is unreliable because of drainage issues. As a school we will be spending a considerable amount of money to try and rectify this problem. Work is due to stat shortly. Possibly before the end of term. I will keep posted.
