DURHAM UNIVERSITY LACROSSE & YOUR SCHOOL

What is Lacrosse?
Lacrosse is a team game where players pass the ball using a stick with a net. Goals are scored by shooting the ball past a goalkeeper. Lacrosse is a game of stamina, skill, teamwork and is played by both males and females.

Our Aims....
In conjunction with the Durham City Schools Sports Partnership and the English Lacrosse Association, our aim is to introduce children to a new exciting game and ensure that interested children have the opportunity to continue participating in the sport.

Meet the Coach

Emily Blatter is in her second year as the Senior Lacrosse Coach at Durham University, where she led the club to two titles in her first year. She played university lacrosse in America. She was the fifth leading scorer in the U.S. for two years in a row, and she has the second longest scoring streak in university lacrosse history.

What´s Next?
If your child enjoys lacrosse, we are starting the Team Durham Lacrosse Academy, an after-school program starting on November 2nd held every Monday from 17:00-18:00 at Maiden Castle. The cost is just £1 per session, and all equipment is provided. The Academy will be run by senior lacrosse coach Emily Blatter, assistant-coach Chelsea Martinez, and qualified Durham University lacrosse players.
